The Barclay, the InterContinental property in midtown Manhattan that has earned its fair share of flack from us due to its notably atrocious color schemes and seriously-aged decor, has officially made our heads explode by jumping way, way ahead of the times and scoring a Microsoft Surface computer.

We thought these babies were only being tested out in Sheraton Hotels, but apparently The Barclay got its hands (heh) on a sparkling new surface and has already put it to good use.

A concierge at the property helped a trio of ICH staffers get ready for the NYC Marathon by using the Surface: he showcased the marathon route using Google Earth on the Surface table.

Ah, we can just imagine the possibilities with the throngs of fanny-pack-wearing tourists: the concierge would be trying to show them the walking route to the closest Dunkin Donuts, but they'd be so mesmerized by the giant touchscreen computer table that he'd have to explain the directions three times.

But seriously: of all the hotels in New York City to be next in line to adopt the Surface, The Barclay would have probably been close to the bottom of our list of guesses just cause it's so... well, take a look at these curtains and you'll see what we mean.
