A Value-Added Palm Springs Getaway at the Colony Palms
The election may be over, but just in case you needed reminding, the economic crisis is not. So! You probably need a vacation, right? And luckily for you, virtually every hotel in this great nation has been banking on your greying hair and thinning wallet by offering special packages for escaping the economy.
The latest to hop aboard the bandwagon is The Colony Palms Hotel in Palm Springs, a hotel built in 1936 by Purple Gang mobster Al Wertheimer that has been a speakeasy, a brothel and a gambling house in its time (racy!)
The newly-renovated 56-room desert getaway (where rates start around $149) is offering two "value-added" packages to appeal to the disgruntled among us. The first: The Economy Relief Package, available from Sunday to Thursday. It includes 25% off room rates, restaurant bills and spa treatments. Mention the promo code "Escape" when booking.
For those of you into de-stressing on the green, the "Stay and Play" Package includes that same 25% off room rates and restaurant bills, as well as a golf outing (in lieu of the spa treatment).
Live it up, people.
