This Week in HotelChatter Commenting...The VIP Edition

November 21, 2008 at 4:30 PM | 0 Comments

This week we got two shout-outs from some VIPs--the CEO of TripAdvisor and the folks over at EasyHotel. Thanks for joining the comment fray.

· SteveK aka CEO of TripAdvisor lets us know that he has a strict Anti-Spam-Bot Policy. Thanks Steve!

· EasyHotel tells us not to be afraid of the Orange. We will try our best, thanks!

· MyTwoCents lets us know that the Westin Jersey City may actually open on January 20th instead of in February.

· Peg gives us the real scoop on the "cool" Villa Maly Hotel in Laos.

Villa Maly touts itself as being a five star resort. My impression of this hotel would hardly rate it two. There is nothing colonial about the hotel apart from the rather stuffy furniture, I don't know who designed it but I thought all the tables in the room and the lamps in reception were overkill.

· JSmith educates us about the Nitrogen Wine Bar at the The New Sheridan Hotel:

It'll actually keep opened bottles fresher, longer and allow people to get glasses of higher end wine without having to purchase a whole bottle. Pretty sweet system actually- exposes more people to more wines that they wouldn't always be able to get tastings of, or glasses for that matter.

· Everyone agrees. DC Hotels have lost their minds when it comes to Inauguration Packages.
