Local treats found at the Nines Hotel

Thanks to the magic of Google, we recently stumbled upon some greeeeeeeat (said like Tony the Tiger) Portland, Oregon deals. In fact, there is a whole website dedicated to giving you deals: TravelPortland.com.

Their year-round Big Deal hotel packages offer something invaluable on the downtown streets: free parking. Wait, we didn't say that loud enough. FREE PARKING.

The Portland Big Deal offers year-round discounts at more than 35 hotels. Exclusive hotel rates include double-occupancy accommodations; free parking, saving you $21 per night (downtown average); and continental breakfast for two. When you check in at your Big Deal hotel, pick-up your Small Book of Big Deals, filled with discounts on tax-free shopping, dining and more.

We checked out the deal for The Heathman Hotel for this weekend. (Mostly because of all the books. We love our books.) A deluxe room with king bed costs the same, despite the Big Deal Package giving you free stuff. Or, get the symphony suite for $199, $20 less than the cost to book on Heathman's site.

There are also Twilight packages for those who love vampires and teen romance and have already bought their midnight screening tickets. The book took place in the Pacific Northwest, so you can tour the locations. There's even a package that includes an advance screening. But beware of screaming girls.
