Spambots Give The SLS Hotel TripAdvisor Reviews

Since we're rather hard up for someone to send us a Reader Review of the newly opened SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, we got pretty excited when we headed over to TripAdvisor and saw that the property already had seven reviews.

But then our excitement died down when we realized six of those reviews were from "Apple World Traveler" and they were entirely in Chinese and dated from years ago. Looks like a spamming job.

However, there was one real human review from November 10th, citing the hotel as wonderful.

huge room, great bathroom, great disign (sic) everything is not open like the bazar but really great hotel and staff

That's it and no photos. So it's up to you. Anybody out there that's not a spambot, please send us your review (photos too) of the SLS Hotel.

    Correction

    Does look like Spam, but this is Japanese, not Chinese as you mention.  Hopefully the SLS will have some real reviews some time soon.

    Yep, our mistake, but not spam.  TripAdvisor has licensed some reviews from Apple World (in japanese), and they were reviews for the old hotel at this address.  When a new hotel "takes over" we remove the reviews of the old hotel (no longer relevant), but these "new" licensed reviews fell through the cracks.

    We'll have them pulled down shortly.  Thanks for pointing it out.

    i had it right the first time

    i totally put japanese and then last-minute i changed to chinese. but thanks for keeping us informed Stevek!
