Interestingly, Sam Nazarian in his speech said the location for SLS was not ideal, citing the random auto body shop across the street and that the project took a little over three years to come to fruition. However, he was genuinely excited by the inside of SLS (which initially was going to stand for Style Luxury and Service) which is no ordinary hotel. Also excited? Sam's dad, who gave a little speech and who helped the mayor ring the bell about 10 times. It was endearing and made us want to open a nightclub empire and a hotel so that our dad could do that too.
About the hotel's location, not all is lost. Jack Weiss said that the hotel is across from the original location of Fatburger and even said Chef Jose Andres might be inspired by that in his menu. Hah, right. The hotel is also close to Arnie Morton's steakhouse, the Beverly Center, Nobu's restaurant Matsuhisa and the only Loehmanns in Los Angeles proper.
Speaking of the chef, Bazaar is still only open to family and friends. We got a sneak peek again inside and everything looked mostly in place, with exception of the Moss retail area.

Yet we still were not allowed to take interior pics of the hotel, so please if you happen to stay at this hotel soon, send us some snapshots.
