Thompson LES Still Under $200

Welcome to Room Rate Drop Watch where we chronicle the plummeting prices at hotels that once commanded top dollar rates. Last week, we almost couldn't believe it when we found that the Thompson LES was going for $170 a night on Quikbook in the days before Thanksgiving. A new hip hotel in New York for under $200? We haven't seen this like, ever. But it was true and we booked it.

Then over the weekend, a reader emailed us a rate of $136 for Thompson LES the night before Thanksgiving on 11/26. Sadly, when we skipped over to QB to check it out the rate had gone up to $178. But that's still under $200. And if you go to the Thompson website, rooms start at $229.

The hotel is running the special on Quikbook through the month of November. In December, rooms jump back over the $200 mark.
