Certainly, this is an experience that should give anyone pause. At least a moment or two to wonder what hotel industry executive dreamed up this idea (and if his colleagues laughed in the meeting where he presented it).
We'd also like to know if they couldn't find something better for the housekeepers to do besides fold the toilet paper ends into clever little forms? Were they not happy with the existing hotel towel origami art?
Although, we should point out that some of these fancy-pants hotels have their housekeepers fold the toilet paper corners into a triangle and then attach it to the rest of the roll with a seal-like sticker (money well spent). Other hotels like to tie a ribbon around the spare roll of toilet paper, like a welcome-to-the-bathroom amenity. Thompson Hotels, as we already know, likes to imprint their logo on the first square.
Really though, sculpting the hygienic paper products into the proud artwork of a seven-year-old girl is not a deal breaker for any hotel guest. If these hotels really insist on impressing guests in the bathroom, try leaving some reading material in there.
What else do you think hotel should include in their bathrooms? Let us know.
