The hotel is located in the Saint Blaise quartier which is the 20th arrondissement and on the edge of Paris.
The place looks perfect for the young and the edgy and Starck's presence is felt all over, especially in the public spaces. The hotel has a small restaurant, a chic bar and lounge and the requisite Parisien brasserie. With a location near artist studios, the hotel promises guests will feel the spirits of well-known artists like Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison, who was buried in the nearby Pere Lachaise cemetary as was Wilde and Marcel Proust.
The rooms are equally young and edgy, from what we can tell. Think downtown NYC. The good parts, not the tourists bits. Perhaps the best thing about the rooms? All are equipped with iMacs. Much like those at CityInns in the UK, the iMacs function as the televisions as well.
We're not sure what else is in the rooms as the website is not fully fleshed out yet. Still, we'd be willing to take a chance on Mama Shelter. The bestest part so far might be the fact that the hotel rooms start at 79 Euros. Mama, we love you.
