Last week we showed you le bike that Le Meurice in Paris keeps on hand for its guests (and maybe its employees too). Today, we show you the work of Philippe Starck from inside the hotel's lobby. Starck was in charge of renovating the swanky hotel and he gave the place an updated new look at the end of December 2007.

There's no old fugly carpeting here! Just unusual furniture done in the Starck way, which is something that we happen to like.

Starck redid the interior of the hotel's restaurant, Le Dali, in an homage to Salvador Dali.

And in this restaurant where the spirit of Dali still reigns supreme, you will find so many winks to the work of this artist, such as a Daliesque seat with feet in the form of ladies shoes, a lamp with drawers, or a lobster on a telephone. All this add to the mystical aura and is totally Daliesque!!!

While we aren't as enthusiastic as the hotel's website, it is worth a look. (The seat with the ladies shoes is up at the front of the room.) Also, make sure to look up to the ceiling to see the painting from Starck's daughter, Ara.

Starck also redid Le Bar 228, which was voted recently by Gourmet magazine's Paris Edition as one of the best hotel bars in the city. It's a dark, sexy and a tad bit testosterone-y. There's 50 whiskies and malts on the menu. But we would probably be just as happy ordering a glass of wine and the Croque Meurice, a jumbo version of the Croque Monsieur. Mmmm.
