Loden Vancouver is Kor Hotels' first Canadian venture and is set to make its grand debut on October 18th. A year late. Yeah, there's been some drama-dramz here. The hotel was originally supposed to open in Fall 2007, and it looked to be nearing completion but missed its opening date.

Then it was supposed to open in March 2008 and had rates listed on its website and everything -- but then no.

But now: rejoice! It's almost ready to go! And Voya Restaurant -- headed up by highly-acclaimed chef Marc-Andre Choquette -- will be opening up as well.

Official word from the press release:

Loden's 77 contemporary rooms and host of amenities will be housed in a newly constructed, 14-story tower built with a visionary balance where modern meets nature. Vancouver, a city of deep colours and lush abundance, provides the inspiration for elements that are carried into the hotel's design. Loden's curved glass, natural stone and copper exterior mimic ocean waves, symbolic of the British Columbia coastline.

They're running a special opening rate of $239 per night any day of the week through December 30th, but rooms look to be scarce already: we tried booking one night on every date for the next 2 weeks and almost all of them came back with no availability (but not all!)
