A Delano Hotel Opening in St. Barts?

Much like the spin-offs of their popular Mondrian flagship in places like Scottsdale, Miami Beach, Chicago and New York, Morgans Hotel Group is eager to do the same with the Delano Hotel.

The Delano Las Vegas project was started and then stopped and is now indefinitely on hold. A Delano in Dubai was announced back in September but that won't open until 2012.

However, it looks like a project in St. Bart's has received the greenlight and will be the second Delano to open. We were tipped off that Dutch designer Piet Boon would be in charge of the Delano St. Barts design (the original was done by Philippe Starck) and on Boon's web site, the opening date is set as near as 2009.

Other than that, we have no other info such as where in St. Barts or what this place will look like. But as soon as we hear something, we'll update you. Similarly, if you know something, won't you be kind to share it with us too?

    Juliana - Was trying to find mention of the Delano hotel on Piet Boon's website and can't seem to find it...can you direct me to where it is? Thx!

    then go into projects. its a little funky but the scrolling screen on the bottom reveals the delano project.
