According to the 2009 Michelin Guide, Wynn Wins Vegas
As we've said before, HotelChatter has stayed at a lot of hotels in sin city, and we keep on coming back to the Wynn Las Vegas. We've always loved their spacious rooms, killer service and plush amenities (strip views don't hurt either), but we also really dig what the hotel has to offer outside the rooms, like their dining, gambling and spa areas.
So it made us smile to hear that Michelin -- that's the one that gives out the Stars, people (Michelin is to stars as AAA is to diamonds) -- has awarded the Wynn top honors in The 2009 Michelin guidebook. A distinction shared with only eight other hotels in North America, the Wynn earned five red pavilions from the guide, which noted "Wynn's posh playground leaves little to be desired." We say: what, no mention of Danny Gans? Where's the lovin'?
Five hotels in Vegas also earned four red pavilions, which are awarded based on cleanliness, overall service and comfort: the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Palazzo, Trump International Hotel and Tower and Ritz-Carlton on Lake Las Vegas.
On the Vegas dining scene, Joel Robuchon in the MGM Grand earned a coveted rating of three Michelin stars, while Alex at Wynn Las Vegas, Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace and Picasso at Bellagio snagged two stars each (which are awarded based only on food).
So now it's official: with five red pavilions, two Michelin stars and Danny Gans, the Wynn wins Vegas. And our hearts.
