Two New Viceroy Hotels on Track for 2009
While some hotel chains are thinking twice about expanding as they worry about filling the rooms that already exist, Kor Hotels can't be bothered with any of that. Moving forward with their aggressive international expansion plan, Kor has announced this week that two of their newest properties, Viceroy Anguilla and Viceroy Miami (not to be confused with Viceroy South Beach), are on track for 2009 openings.
Debuting in February '09, the Viceroy Miami will occupy one of three towers in the ICON Brickell development and will feature "rich tones and organic patterns with a tropical Asian scheme." Up on the 15th floor, guests will have access to a huge recreation area: a sun deck with cabanas, a 310 foot infinity pool overlooking the bay, a movie theater, and billiard room. Overlooking the area will be a swanky dining spot, and the sure-to-be-super-trendy rooftop bar sits on top of the 50th story of the building.
Viceroy Anguilla -- phase I of which is slated to open in May 2009 -- is a 35-acre complex with "an array of 166 stylish homes comprised of freestanding villas and single-story resort residence buildings" (see photo). All Villa, Penthouse and Townhome guests will have "Lifestyle Assistants." That is, butlers who will also act as "personal ambassadors to the island and its culture."
