By the time the new 4-star Sanctuary Hotel opens in the former 2-star Portland Square Hotel off of Times Square, the renovations will have taken a healthy two years to complete.

Seeing as how this will be the first upscale hotel property for Impulsive Group (who own the Marrakech and Ameritania, as well as several hostels in New York), we can't say we have high expectations for the project; we've always thought of it as just another Midtown hole. But now that they've gone and thrown a yacht into the deal, we may have to stop hesitating and start salivating.

When the Sanctuary finally opens early next year, guests will have the option to book a Superyacht package on Impulsive Group's eponymous vessel, the 120-foot Impulsive. Luxist has the details:

After sailing the Mediterranean on Impulsive, guests will be able to hop a private plane to New York and arrive in style for a stay in the Sanctuary's duplex penthouse suite without bothering about multiple bookings. The Impulsive, which just completed a multimillion dollar refit, comes with a Michelin-starred chef and a crew of seven, and costs $100,000 a week on its own.

No pricing on this package has been released, but consider the usual cost of a chartered jet plus $1,800 per night in the duplex penthouse, and we're talking mucho rolls of unmarked bills. Who would spring for this treat other than the very people who already have fractional jet ownership and a yacht of their own?

Aside from the fact that it would make a great contest prize, we think Sanctuary's Superyacht package is a pipe dream at best, only touted for the sake of publicity (oops! we fell for it).
