Escape the Economy Hotels :: Tax Breaks for Californians at JDV Hotels

As recession fears begin to mount, we will be running Escape the Economy hotel packages. We doubt this will make you feel better about your dwindling stash of money but you might actually have a good time.

This is an awesome kind of deal if you're a resident of California. JDV Hotels are offering "Tax Relief for Californians" to their in-state guests. The deal basically wipes out the occupancy tax for guests at any of JDV's 30 hotels in California.

And the deal is good right up until tax day--April 15, 2009.

You can book directly from JDV's website which will automatically include the code CALTAX for you. Occupancy taxes are 14 percent of the room rate which for the Hotel Vitale in San Francisco was about $62 a night . That's a nice little bit of change the hotel is saving you.

However, a valid California ID is required and the deal cannot be combined with an existing reservation or negotiated or group rate.
