Let's be real, here: you're going to stimulate the economy in some way after the election. You're either going to go out for a nice champagne dinner to celebrate the election of your fave candidate, or you're going to invest in a bottle of Jack Daniels and spend lots of money to gas up your car to run away to Canada.

We cannot offer you an alternative (or a better idea, really) if you find yourself in the latter situation, but we can recommend that you go all out if your fave candidate does win and you want to contribute to the ol' economy by celebrating presidential-style: yet another election-themed package! This one's a post-election celebration, though: The "Cloud Nine" package at Nine Zero Hotel in Boston.

This one involves a penthouse, secret-service-style security, plentiful champagne, and possibly donuts, ABBA and pistachios as well -- depending on who wins.

For $3900 (ain't no thang), you can enjoy a post-election stay in the Cloud Nine Penthouse, a 1,200 square foot presidential suite which, you may recall, has that awesome LG Iris Identification Technology to lock and unlock the door. You can feel like a big deal for a night. Or at least a little bit like Jack Bauer.

Cloud Nine guests will receive an in-suite gift package designed for the winning candidate, full of his fave things and, of course, a bottle of celebratory champagne. The possibilities:

· McCain Pack: assorted doughnuts, BBQ flavored chips, mini Stoli from mini bar, Weekend at Bernie's on DVD, Mamma Mia soundtrack (ABBA), a copy of For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway, and a `Team McCain' campaign button/ bumper sticker

· Obama Pack: Planters' trail mix, Dentyne Ice, pistachios, Black Forest `Berry Honest' tea, Casablanca on DVD, SERVE 2 (compilation CD featuring some of Barack's favorite artists: Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, and Bruce Springsteen; proceeds from sales benefit world hunger initiatives), a copy of For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway, and a 'Team Barack' campaign button/ bumper sticker.

And yes, both candidates are known to agree on For Whom the Bell Tolls -- and we're not even going to address the issue of musical taste.

The package is valid from November 7, 2008 - February 28, 2009 -- reservations can be made by calling Kimpton at (866) 906-9090; ask for rate code PRES.

And if you're not into spending $3900 on a hotel room, all three of Kimpton's Boston properties (Nine Zero, Hotel Marlowe and Onyx Hotel) are offering 20% off all suites from January 1 through the end of February for Presidents Day if you book using rate code PRS. You can just buy a copy of For Whom the Bell Tolls and some Andre champagne and pretend it's the same.
