Standard NYC May Soft-Open in November But Don't Count On It

The last time we checked in on the Standard NYC it was holding a "Construction Chic" party for fashionistas during Fashion Week but was still totally off-limits as an up and running hotel.

That may change in the next few weeks. A tipster forwarded us the email response he got when he inquired about making a reservation at the hotel. Here's what the letter said:

We are expecting to have a soft opening with "preview rates" available mid-November. The exact date is still unknown due to construction timelines etc. The very instance we know, we will be posting it, along with on-line booking functionality onto our website.

This sounds promising but we won't hold our breath. Tere's no word on what those preview rates might look like and since the opening date is still up in the air, we're not quite sure that the hotel will even open in November. And when it does, it probably won't have all the goodies like restaurants and bars open either. Sigh.
