This week we're taking a look at what's going on in Barcelona. We actually spent some time there a few weeks ago so we'll be dropping our own hotel reviews as well as news on the Barcelona Hotel Scene in general. Any questions? Send it our way.

ME Hotels which has a few popular properties in Cabo, Mexico and Madrid has opened their fourth hotel, this time in Barcelona.

The ME Barcelona hotel hosted a grand-opening party on October 9th which featured a performance by Fall Out Boy whose guitarist Pete Wentz opened an outpost of his Angels & Kings bar on the hotel's sixth floor.

The hotel is located on Diagonal Alley in the city's modern 22@ district and the hotel's building is actually 30 stories tall. So it's quite a different stay than the swank old guard hotels of the Eixample district.

Designed by renowned French architect Dominique Perrault, the 30-story building features 259 rooms and suites, all with magnificent views of either the mountains of Barcelona or the Mediterranean. The lobby is a modern and dramatic, but inviting space, filled with lively world music, local art and a fresh scent developed exclusively for ME Barcelona.

The accommodations have two categories--The Supreme rooms and The Level suites. All rooms come with 32-inch plasma TV screens, free WiFi, Aveda amenities, 24-hour room service, and an "Everything is Possible" concierge team.

Aside from Angels & Kings which opens out onto the pool deck, the hotel features a restaurant on the 24th floor with 360-degree views of the city, called Dos Cielos. Guests can also nosh at the lobby venue, Sky Restaurant & Lounge.

And if you find yourself eating too much good food, which in Barcelona is bound to happen, the hotel has a 24-7 fitness center. So far, the hotel (which has been soft-opened for a while) only has one review on TripAdvisor and it's a very good one.

Our only concern would be the location which is a bit further away from the must-see sights of Barcelona. However, the metro is close by, making it easy to access those sites within minutes. And apparently, the beach is within walking distance. Rates start at 182 ($242) Euros for a single room, breakfast included.

Great post. We actually found out about ME cause of some photos that were put up online from the show.

We're booked at ME (http://www.me-barcelona.com/) for the end of the year. Heard good things so we've got to check it out!
