You know the scene. You open the door to your brand new hotel room, run over to the window, open the blinds and bam, you are hit with the anti-view. Maybe you are looking down a dirty alley, witnessing a drug deal, staring at an air shaft in the face, or seeing a brick wall. Whatever you are viewing it is not extremely pleasurable. Help out your fellow hotel mavens by uploading your anti-views to the HotelChatter/Flickr photo pool, or by sending the photo along to us. Remember to tell us the name of the hotel and the room number with the not-so-easy-on-the-eyes view.

Since obsessive hotel room view collector Jim took this anti-view, the hotel has changed from a Ramada to the La Quinta Inn in Joplin, Missouri, but we're guessing the view probably hasn't changed too much. Sure, the semi-trailers have probably taken a hike, but they're almost the most interesting part.

To be fair, the La Quinta Inn seems more about location than views--it's a motel on route US 71 at I-44 close to Missouri Southern College. Room rates average a low $79 a night, so you can hardly expect a spectacular view to be thrown in for free. Of course, we can still dream of a decent view and a low price turning up together.

    Blue Skies

I suppose their guests can take some solace in being able to see a relatively clear sky as opposed to the side of a building, right?
