There are several difference that go beyond the one penny: the Royal Hawaiian deal is actually not some sort of a clicking contest that has the potential to take down an entire infrastructure. It's really just a deal where they're offering rooms for $19.27 as in, like, the first night is $19.27, and then there's a four-night minimum.
Also, that $19.27 will be donated toward the preservation of "Hawaii's historic sites, precious natural beauty, and indigenous cultural traditions."
Plus, this is more like a package: you get ninner for two at the new Azure Restaurant, two mai tai's and a fun little Hawaiian memento.
And the biggie: you can book your reservation whenevs (instead of waking up early and playing a fruitless clickity-click game for 80 minutes).
The hotel re-opens (as a Starwood Luxury Collection hotel, by the way) in late January, and the package is available from February 1 to June 30, 2009. Reservations can be made here.
