The dark side of Las Vegas can be very dark indeed. Hello, have you seen CSI? Or the pirates and wenches at Treasure Island? Freaky indeed.

And over at the Palazzo Hotel inside SushiSamba, things will a little spookier.

The restaurant is hosting Spooky KaBOOki (their capitalization, not ours) which is a play on the traditional Japanese theater form of Kabuki. Kabuki uses "bizarre stylizations and outlandish characters" as well as plenty of visual tricks and stage techniques to wow the audience. And what better night to do this than Halloween.

SushiSamba is going all out for this. The restaurant is hosting a costume contest for bold diners who arrive in costume. The first place winner will receive a $200 gift certificate to SushiSamba of course. And runners up will receive a $100 gift certificate. It's like all the sushi you could eat! Additionally, a DJ named DJ Dracula will be spinning tunes. We're guessing Thriller and Monster Mash are at the top of the playlist too.

Kids at SushiSamba (people would bring their kids?) will get free Japanese candy and a special Spooky KaBOOki's Dracula dessert made with Coca Cola gelee, vanilla bean ice cream, and raspberry foam, topped with berry blood drops and pop rock explosions.

For the adults, they can try the Spooky KaBOOki cocktail which is made up of pearl pomegranate vodka, blood orange puree and mango juice.

If you're thinking about staying overnight at the Palazzo, rooms are going for about $259 a night. Over at the neighboring Venetian, rooms were $239 a night. Not that bad for a holiday weekend but there are definitely better deals in Vegas.
