The MetroTravelGuide.com website says the 75-room, 13-suite hotel will "draw from a broad palette of cultural influences from the Tibetan silk rugs underfoot to the patterns of Moroccan tile that adorn the bathrooms."
Amenities include Dux Siberian beds, oak floors, large soaking tubs, iPod docks, complimentary internet and organic bath products from McBride beauty. The starting room is the 325-sq.ft Courtyard room which opens onto the hotel's inner courtyard. But all standard rooms have 10 foot ceilings with intricate molding detail and oak hardwood floors. The suites, located on the higher floors with the exception of the studios which open onto the courtyard, are roomier and offer views of Greenwich Street and the Hudson River.
On site will be a Shibui Spa with a lantern-lit swimming pool, a lounge area and a 1,000-square-foot fitness center.
As for dining, DeNiro will open a spin-off of his Ago restaurant (pics on Eater) helmed by Chef Agostino Sciandri and serving authentic Tuscan fare. There will also be a guests-only Drawing Room serving drinks and lunch. Additionally, hotel guests can get room service 24 hours a day.
If anyone wants to start donating to the "Help HotelChatter Stay at the Greenwich Hotel", we will take any and all forms of payment. Somehow we don't think this place will have media rates.
