The Palazzo Las Vegas is open, so they say. When we looked online for rooms tonight, the prices listed started at $499 for a Palazzo Luxury room with a king bed but were sold out.

We then called the reservations line to see if the rooms were open and the number listed for the Palazzo suite reservations forwarded us to the Venetian reservations line. Finally, after a wait of about 10 minutes an operator came on the phone and detailed some of our Palazzo lodging options.

Here's the breakdown:
· Jan 11-13: Confirmed views of the strip at $299 a night in Palazzo Luxury King room which is 720 sq.ft. Unconfirmed views of the strip (most likely this kind of view) for $259 a night in the same room type.
· Jan. 18-20, Opening Weekend: Rooms are cheaper during opening weekend. Maybe because more rooms will have opened up, maybe because Palazzo is keen to have a full house on opening weekend. Confirmed views of the strip start at $239 for Friday night and $299 for Saturday night. Unconfirmed views are at $199 Friday night and $259 Saturday night. We double-checked the website and the prices were the same for both weekends.

However, the reservations agent also tried to sell us on a "This Day Only" offer which would include two for one entries to Canyon Ranch Spa and $20 per day in dining credits to participating restaurants. But we had to book today to get this offer. Still, that might mean a better value for your money can be found if you through a reservations agent for Palazzo rather than online. With Vegas getting increasingly expensive, that $20 a day dining credit can help.

Booked a room at the Palazzo? Tell us how you did it. And better yet, tell us how your stay went.
