The South Beach Edition Hotel From Schrager and Marriott to Open in 2010

Now that we know about Edition Hotels, details be popping up all over the place about where these hotels will strike next.

As the NYPost reported last month, the old South Beach Marriott will be converted into an Edition Hotel and opening in 2010. The Miami Herald has the detes:

The Edition will sit about 16 blocks south of the Delano in the more remote and tranquil section of South Beach. "I actually like south of Fifth Street because it has some of that old Miami Beach charm," Schrager said. "The streets are a little bit narrower down there. I like the scale very much."

Schrager also hearts South Beach immensely saying he would love to open up hotels there at every price point. Hmm, maybe there is a Courtyard by Schrager in the works as well.

For now, the South Beach Marriott is still open for guests.
