NYLO Hotels Announce Spin-Off Brand XP Hotels
Yesterday at the all-important Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS), Bill Marriott and Ian Schrager weren't the only one with a big announcement to make.
NYLO Hotels also made a big splash--by announcing a new brand, XP Hotels. Since we couldn't attend the conference (due to a damn cold), we have the news straight outta the press release:
XP by NYLO Hotels aims to combine the best qualities of boutique and select-service hotels. The brand extension caters to business travelers looking for mid-priced lodgings with unique design and enhanced amenities.
Each property will feature NYLO's signature urban loft design, the lobby as gathering place and high-tech amenities. At the same time, rates will be well within reach at $90 - $110 per night.
And some more:
"XP by NYLO will extend the boutique lifestyle concept to a new price point and make it feasible to develop this exciting hotel in a wide variety of markets that heretofore have suffered from a lack of interesting lodgings," [NYLO President Michael] Mueller explains.
So it sounds like it's basically the NYLO experience but a little cheaper as NYLO costs around $200 a night. But similar to NYLO it will be found in suburban, secondary and tertiary markets as well as near airports and major office complexes.
MORE on XP including design and amenities after the jump.
XP Hotels will feature similar amenities to NYLO like the ever-wonderful free and fast WiFi, iPod docking stations and flat-screen TVs as well as complimentary items like free parking, bottled water and free local and long-distance domestic phone calls.
XPs will have 24-hour fitness centers and some food & beverage in the form of a lobby breakfast buffet, a wine bar and a healthy "grab and go" cafe that serves sandwiches, soups and salads.
Design-wise XP will keep that urban loft aesthetic that NYLO has.
Guest lofts will feature 10-foot ceilings, exposed brick walls and contemporary furnishings. Sunlight will pour through windows that take up most of an entire wall. With an average size of approximately 265 square feet, each room or suite will feature the exclusive XP by NYLO bed dressed in luxury linen, throw and fabric headboard.
No word yet on when or where the first XP will open but we wonder how did they get this hotel name past Bill Gates?
