As of late, W Hotels has kept their expansion machine running--announcing locations in D.C., Minneapolis and Denver, as well as nearing completion of other hotels in South  Beach, Hoboken, Puerto Rico and Atlanta.

Now a W is planned for Boston. Andrew Calvo, Starwood Stalker Extraordinaire, has the detes over at his blog Passions of a Zealot:

The W Boston Hotel & Residences, being developed by Sawyer Enterprises, and designed by William Rawn Associates, is going to be located in the theatre district at the intersection of Stuart & Tremont Street.

The W Boston will have residences in addition to its 235 guest rooms (spread over 25 stories) as well as 12,000 sq.ft. of retail, restaurant and spa space. We expect all the W accoutremonts to be in order here--Bliss, Whatever/Whenever, Rande Gerber bar. etc. Tentative opening date is set for sometime in 2009.

I was hoping W would finally stand for Water in Boston.  No dice though, down in the theater district where old hotels go to die.  Kidding, sort of, plenty of fine hotels down there ... I guess.
