Standard Hotels Launches New Website

Aside from releasing a calendar of hottie staffers, Andre Balaz's Standard Hotels have also relaunched their website.
What was once a very white and minimalistic site has been transformed into a comprehensive, informative and entertaining site. On the home page, you are greeted with video from each location--Hollywood, Downtown Los Angeles, Miami Beach and the upcoming New York. While it looks like live cam video on the site, we highly doubt that the rooftop pool in downtown LA is packed at 10am on a January morning.
Nevertheless, when you click on a location, you are taken to a new page. So each hotel now has its own URL, which makes us geeks feel like order has been restored in the world.
Each hotel page also has the same menu items on the right-hand side such as rooms, restaurants & bars, culture, meetings & events, virtual tour, etc, giving you as much information possible about what's at the hotels as far as rooms, amenities and the restaurants/bar scenes as well as what cultural events are going on at the hotel.
We particularly liked how the virtual tours ("drag the room around 360-degrees" types) are not just of one room but rather two different room categories and that there are virtual tours available of the pool areas, restaurants, bars and spas. So you can be close to certain of what you will pay for when you get there.
As for the New York page, which is prefaced by a video of a squirrel, all it says is "Coming Soonish." Hopefully soonish means 2008.
