Hotel Resaurants: Chop Suey Coming to NYC

Overlooking Times Square, Chop Suey on the third floor of the Renaissance Hotel is in its soft opening phase, meaning you can already enjoy some of the Korean menu and the accompanying views of the street below. While some say the name is stupid, is it any worse than nearby Ruby Foos? (Hint: no.)
And while Eater says consulting with Zak Pelaccio (of 5 Ninth and Fatty Crab) is a major gimmick, he's certainly created a more interesting menu than they have nearby at the Olive Garden. We say any effort to get a decent menu into this part of town deserves at least a little praise.
Speaking of, the menu features Korean-style rice gnocchi with pork Bolognese, a kimchi burger, rock shrimp with pork belly and Hong Kong-style noodles. Dessertmeister Will Goldfarb (of Room4Dessert) devised the sweet half of things.
