Cocktail hour in London? To increase your chances of running into Kate, Keira or Sienna, why not head to the one year-old Artesian Bar, designed by David Collins of Claridge's and London Bar New York fame.

Part of the Langham Hotel in the city's upmarket Regent Street, the place oozes more style than Stella Mc Cartney. The bar itself is described as "Chinese Chippendale", blending modern Asian and old English influences to create a truly unique centerpiece.

And then there's the drinks. Specialising in rum, the bar boasts an extensive (and expensive) cocktail list comprised of top-quality ingredients sourced from around the world.

We loved some of the bar's signature inventions including the Mon Cherie Cooler made with cherry vodka, apple juice, chocolate liqueur and fresh passion fruit and the Hot Buttered Rum - a perfect winter warmer blending clove-infused apricot brandy and honey cream.

Open from 7.30am to 2am Monday to Saturday, and from 7.30am to midnight on Sunday, a mouth-watering all day menu is also on hand. And if you're in town on the first or last Monday of the month, we think that the Dominos and Daiquiris night sounds fun. $79 for two people will get you two daiquiris each, a serving platter for two (choose from Antipasto, Meze or Chinese), the use of a domino set and a sheet of rules.

Apparently both the drink and the game originated in Cuba, hence their inspired pairing. In the ambient surroundings of the Artesian, it works a treat for us.
