HotelChatter Contributing Editor Tim Leffel recently completed a sojourn to Hungary the other week and has dutifully reported back to us on the hotel scene in Budapest. This week we'll be running all of his stories so if you have any questions about Hungary accommodations, hit us on the tipline, or just comment below, and we will do our best to get you some sort of answer.

The Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal is a re-imagining of the original Hotel Royal that opened on this Budapest site in 1986.
The Corinthia Group brought it back to life in 2006, returning the basement thermal bath and spa to its original design, restoring the impressive exterior, and re-imagining many public spaces as they appeared in the golden age, before the interior was gutted after a fire in 1956.
MORE
In its heyday it hosted plenty of celebrities and had concerts conducted by Bartok in the ballroom. Now its main appeal is its excellent location near the Opera House and city center attractions. With a ballroom seating 300 and an exhibition center, it also gets a lot of the city's conference crowds.
The Rickshaw Asian restaurant is one of the best in town for both Thai food and its sushi bar and the adjoining Bock Bistro is known for its excellent selection of Hungarian wines from around the country.
The two-bedroom Royal Suite here is like a large, luxurious apartment with a full kitchen (240 square meters/2,400 square feet). If you're going to splash out, it's a relative bargain compared to other hotels in town: 1,000 to 3,000 euros a night depending on the season. Hey, breakfast is included.
The rest of the rooms allcome with free Internet access--a real rarity in Europe--and half the rooms also have a trouser press.
Standard rooms start at a more reasonable 160 euros in the low season and since their booking site goes to Wyndham hotels, We assume you can get hotel points through them for your stay.
