We rocked up to The Mansfield Hotel launch party last night to see searchlights lighting up the front of the 126-room hotel. After waiting in line for 20 minutes--not the best way to impress us--we got whisked inside where the debauchery level was already pretty high for an early evening hotel party.

The idea was to work your way through the place, checking out different types of rooms and collecting schwag. That was the idea, anyway. As it turns out, people are more in to guzzling free drinks than taking hotel tours.

Our tour, and a hotel video tour, after the jump.

After we had a glass of red wine in hand, the next stop was the penthouse, the two-story space in the video above. Yes, that's a Wii set up in the room, but no one that we saw was drunk enough to play. A three-piece band was playing some jazz as we filmed and took a breather from the raging party in the lobby.

Next up were more rooms, all of which were nice enough. The Mansfield's bathrooms, though, leave much to be desired. They're too small and too basic for the rate you'll be paying. Also, what's with the after-market in-window air conditioners? Not classy enough for a place that wants to be classy. Aside from those gripes, though, the rooms looked pretty good.

As we kept going through the place, the party people were getting sloppy. We even had to do a shot with Patrizia, a nice Italian girl we met. The things we do to satisfy our hotel obsession.

if only i had been there!

also, what was up with the random keyboardist? and did you get an iphone in the gift bag? i need some details on your schwag.

Re: Party Dispatch :: The Mansfield Hotel

@juliana: I think that was a hotel pianist, either that or Ross Geller.

@ juliana

I was too busy quaffing champagne to get the keyboardist's personal info. Sorry!

I didn't get an iPhone, but they were giving out iPods. I was supposed to fill out a form to get one, but I forgot about it. Go figure.

Re: Party Dispatch :: The Mansfield Hotel

It was a swell party and showcased well the hotel's renovations.

The place is a little gem with some very nice features (smart bar, charming decor, great location).
