Morgans Hotel Group CEO Resigns

September 20, 2007 at 12:12 PM | by | Comments (2)

Today, Morgans Hotel Group announced that their CEO Ed Scheetz (seen here with San Fran mayor Gavin Newsom) had resigned.

From the official press release:

The Board of Directors of Morgans Hotel Group Co. today announced that W. Edward Scheetz has resigned by mutual agreement with the Company as President and Chief Executive Officer and as a director of the Company in order to permit him to address personal issues. The Company also announced today that Fred J. Kleisner, a director of the Company, has been named as interim President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

The press release went on to praise Mr. Kleisner but had really very little to say about Mr. Scheetz. So we suspect some shizz went down. Isn't that what "personal issues" these days mean? Oh well, Scheetz's gonna miss out on the Hard Rock Las Vegas re-opening party.
