· On Campus: The Blackwell Inn
The Blackwell Inn is physically located on the OSU campus so walking to the Buckeye games is no problem. The rates here range from about $100 to $150 but the place has put together special group packages for the football games and we're sure there is some kind of OSU student rate.
However, like any other place on campus the food is bad. One reviewer writes:
Stay away from the Bistro: run, do not walk. Not great service and really bad food. Our pasta was ice cold and we were the only customers in the restaurant.
Ahhh...sounds like college to us!
· Next to Campus: The Holiday Inn
If we were to travel to OSU for a game we would probably shack up here. It's close to the stadium and it has positive, consistent and totally realistic reviews. To sum it up:
The hotel is literally a 2 minute walk from OSU campus, and from their hotel, The Blackwell Inn. The Blackwell is about the same quality, more business class, but the Holiday Inn is about half the price, with free parking.
OSU students also get discounts here but beware: The hotel has hosted guests in town for the National Lionhead Rabbit convention. Yikes!
· Close to Campus: Fairfield Inn and Suites
Again, we have another cheap but great option near OSU. We haven't seen so many great reviews of these types of hotel/motels anywhere else. Plus, if you stay here you can totally afford to upgrade your room as one guest did.
The standard room was $119, and after my third trip, I decided to pay the extra three dollars for a suite (rate: $122) and it was MUCH nicer. The suites have 2 TV's, a separate bedroom area, microwave and fridge.
You can totally pile all your entire fraternity in here at those prices.
· A Hotel to Avoid: The Varsity Inn
Beware of this hotel using a cute name to draw in football fans. The price is dirt cheap at around $50 a night (might be more expensive on game day) but one guest cited mold in the bathroom. There's also a Bob Evans connected to the place. But we think you should just splurge an extra $50 or so and stay in comfort at a Holiday Inn. Man, we never thought we would say that....

As always we do this based on what we know and what we have researched but should you have your own recommendations or tips, then please share with us.
