NYC Sunday Stays Get You 20 Percent Off Some Hotels, Mostly Uptown

NYC & Company, the Big Apple's official tourism organization has just announced NYC Sunday Stays which gets you to 20 to 30 percent off room rates at participating hotels.

The promotion is an effort by the New York City to improve Sunday hotel occupancy rates, which traditionally drop an average of 20 points from Saturday night. The promotion also encourages business travelers to begin their stay a day early to enjoy all the City has to offer.

Most of the participating hotels are uptown although the W Union Square is included. Aside from the discounted room rates, some hotels will offer discounted room service and restaurant dining, complimentary breakfast, free parking and room upgrades.

If we had to choose a Sunday Stay of our own, we would first choose The London NYC. We've heard a lot about this place (good and bad) and it's where the Sex and the City movie was reportedly filming.

We also wouldn't mind checking into the Loews Regency on Park Ave mainly for its killer location near Barneys.

For now it doesn't look like there's an expiration date on this offer although we are sure once the weather warms back up and tourists flood the city, hotels will ditch the discount fast.

Participating hotels include The Algonquin Hotel, Dream New York, Flatotel New York City, Grand Hyatt New York, Hilton Garden Inn New York/Staten Island, Le Parker Meridien New York, Loews Regency Hotel, The Mansfield, Millennium Broadway Hotel New York, Paramount Hotel New York, Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, Shoreham Hotel, The Carlton on Madison Avenue, The London NYC, Hotel Plaza Athenee, The Roosevelt Hotel, The Sherry-Netherland, The Time Hotel, The Westin New York at Times Square and the five W New York hotels.
