Colorado's famed The Broadmoor has no lack of dining options, not all of which are as cheesy as this photo of The Golden Bee pub would have you believe. After all, this is a place that not too long ago opened Adam Thihany-designed, award-winning restaurant Summit.

But The Bee is getting the press today because of its new menu of updated pub fare. Chowder, fish and chips and roast beef are all here. And shepherd's pie is just one of the four savory pies on offer. It's a definite nod to the growing gastro-pub trend that's already infiltrated New York City, and netted some serious foodie attention for chefs like April Bloomfield.

But food alone does not a pub make. Beer is also a heavy part of the equation. At The Bee, that's no problem: English ales come in steins or by the yard, if you're feeling especially parched. You'll be singing along with the pub's piano player in no time.
