Marriotts in New Orleans Try a 'Saints'-ational Trick Play

The five Marriott and Renaissance Hotels of New Orleans are offering football fans a Big Easy SAINTSational package. Valid game weekends Sept 24 through December 23, the package includes these extras:

* Game-day snack pack - Three bottles of New Orleans brewed Abita Amber Beer, three bottles of Abita spring water and a snack
* Welcome sports amenity - A logoed cooler
* Breakfast for two

Once you start checking rates, however, this deal looks like a bootleg play that results in either a first down or a fumble depending on which hotel you choose. For the JW Marriott New Orleans this deal is a steal, with the football package price the same as the regular room rate with breakfast. Free beer!

At the Renaissance Pere Marquette, however, the rate for just a room with breakfast is $119 the weekend of September 24. If you go for the football package, the same room is $179. Expensive beer! (Plus if you ask us, 3 beers + 2 guests = annoyed couple.)
