It's all over! Our short trip into the world of the Parker Palm Springs ended with last night's sixth and final installment of Welcome to the Parker. We never thought we'd be saying this, but we're sort of bummed.

Some final thoughts after the jump.

FIRING LINE
In the final WWTP episode, Michael Twomey got the boot. Yeah, upper management thought he couldn't hack it (he couldn't, really). We'd been saying this for a while, but recently we kind of developed a soft spot for Michael-- he doesn't know what he's doing! Let him learn! Train him!

And when he got fired, we almost cried. So he messed up all the time and a little thing called "attention to detail" may or may not be the ONLY important quality in a catering manager... but still! He was sweet and classy in a way only a "Happy Chic" dude can be when he gets the pink slip, but I think John the Concierge said it best on his Bravotv.com blog: "I wish that all of those around him that covered for him, and thought they were helping him, had backed off a little and let him find his own way." Seriously, if you're not going to be hiring experienced people and if you're not going to be training those inexperienced people you hire, at least let them figure out what's going on.

On last night's episode, there were two notable parties the cameras followed: Chris Anthony, a total diva photographer (a real person, this time) and the Colacino family (which, incidentally, included a total diva 10-year-old).

CHRIS ANTHONY
Memo to Chris Anthony: can you PLEASE get real? This guy decided to do a photoshoot at the Parker and expected every staff member on property to pay attention to him... and only him. He even goes so far as to pluck a Parker groundskeeper who's busy trimming some shrubs and puts him in some goofy clothes to pose for pictures. Um, seriously?

For GM Thomas, this kind of crap was not going to fly. He comes on the scene of the photoshoot and kind of tells Chris to quit being a jerk to everyone and to stop harassing his people. Thank you. Take care of your employees and they will take care of your guests.

COLACINO FAMILY
And then there was the Colacino family. They wanted to renew their wedding vows and we couldn't help but notice how many bad omens come up. First, the Mrs. goes on and on about how they were going to renew their vows after their separation, but there was bad weather and scheduling conflicts and this and that. And then on last night's episode, her dress broke right before the ceremony...

Shall we even mention the fact that the HR director was the one presiding over the ceremony? This is probably a bad omen.

Speaking of which, did anyone else notice that the HR director lady was the one planning the ceremony, too? At first we thought this was really crappy; I mean, who wants the HR director in charge of your event? But then we thought about it: Michael Twomey just got the ax and this couple's children gave the Parker four hours to plan a ceremony. The Parker people could have totally said no, but the HR lady was out on the front lines helping out and that makes us smile-- especially considering that absurd 10-year-old girl who hated everything. Bridezilla-in-training, we think.

THE END
In the end, it all worked out and The Parker Christmas party certainly made for a fitting backdrop to close the six-episode series. Michael Twomey, in a ballsy "oh no he didn't" move, showed up to the party as Andrea's date and it was kind of sweet. And we're pretty sure they got tanked.

The best part of the whole episodes were the still shots at the very end with some little "where are they now?" tidbits about each character. It made us feel good because we realized that Bravo didn't take these people too seriously...

Andrea left the Parker soon after the show stopped filming (surprise, surprise), John the Concierge is still being awesome, and the bimbo duo who like to give less fortunate girls makeovers... well, they're still bimbos.

THE FINAL VERDICT?
We're going to miss it. It will be interesting to see what this kind of PR-- the kind that makes the property seem like a mild disaster-- is going to do to business. We certainly wouldn't stay there after watching the whole show, but we enjoyed watching (mostly).

Most of all, we're happy someone finally got around to making a reality show about a hotel. Can someone please do a reality show about a Schrager hotel next? Or how about giving a group of hotel developers some plans and a reasonable length of time and challenge them to get a property up and running on time? That would be exciting, mostly because it seems like it must be an entirely impossible feat since nobody seems to be able to do it.

Let us know your final WTTP thoughts in the comments!
