A maid at the Hotel Carter in Times Square undoubtedly had the worst day at work yesterday when she found the body of a young woman under a bed in one of the rooms. The New York Post reports:

A chambermaid made a grisly discovery while cleaning a Times Square hotel room yesterday - the corpse of a young woman, bundled in black garbage bags and abandoned under the bed.

Police tentatively identified the woman as a 22-year-old tourist from Washington, D.C.

But how she met her death at the Hotel Carter on West 43rd Street - by murder or someone trying to hide the body after an accident or an overdose - remained a mystery.

Police said the death is classified as suspicious.

Naturally, as word spread amongst the other hotel guests (mostly tourists), the $100 rooms at Hotel Carter were abandoned. Not surprisingly the Hotel Carter has a sketchy past although one guest put up with the awful conditions to save some bucks, saying he "didn't get killed, mugged or infected." Oh well, so much for that.
