This was taken from room 919 over the weekend at the Hotel Gansevoort in the Meatpacking district.

While we wouldn't say the billboards blocked the entire view from our window, nor are they as high as the hotel (as someone once reported) they are definitely an eyesore. On a side note, we are considering buying a Jaguar. Also, is it wrong to drink beer this early in the morning?

A note to anyone staying at the Gansevoort: the rooms ending in 19 will offer this type of view and the lower the floor the worse it is. (After the 10th floor, you should be above the billboard.) Eventually we were moved to room 1201 (that's another story) and while we could still see the billboard (and a subsequent changing of the ads), we did have unobstructed views of downtown.

More pictures after the jump.
