Snapshot :: The Standard NYC is Halfway There

In our 2007 New York City Hotel Openings Preview we guesstimated that the Standard NYC in the Meatpacking district would open sometime in late 2007.

However, we may want to revise that to mid-2008 since half of the building is not even finished. Indeed, when a tipster snapped us a pic back in May he mentioned a Summer 2008 opening. And we agree.

Note: We snapped this shot from the rooftop of the Hotel Gansevoort. We love it when hotels have prime views of rival hotels being built--like the Bowery Hotel's view of the rising Cooper Square.
