Get Some Love Hotel Action at The Rock
Like a bit of a prison feel to your Japanese love hotel stay: then The Rock Love Hotel in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture is the place for you. Quirky Japan reports that it follows--at first--an Alcatraz theme:
The exterior and hallways fit the theme completely, with a robotic warden to greet you when you come in and lots of sound and visual effects, but the rooms are just like you'd find in a regular hotel without any particular themes.
Okay, so the rooms themselves may disappoint, but perhaps you can use your imagination in them and still fit the theme. Takasaki City is a central stop north of Tokyo and a common place to see from the seat of a bullet train: next time you're passing through, hop off and spend an hour or a night at The Rock.
