Hotel Le Bleu Following in Six Columbus' Footsteps

NewYorkology reports that Hotel Le Bleu has once again pushed back its opening date--this time to September 1.

September 1 is the new start date, pushed back most recently from August 13. Room rates start at $297 for the first night if you take advantage of the online "summer breaks" 15 percent discount. When the hotel was scheduled to open July 9, the rates were as low as $280.

Actually, when we checked the hotel site today for reservations, rooms were blocked out until September 3rd. It's also disappeared from Hotels.com even though we saw it advertised on the site a few weeks ago.

Whatever the delays are, NewYorkology says the  hotel is located on an "unappealing stretch of 4th Avenue just across the street from the spot where a huge section of scaffolding collapsed during the weekend". So maybe Brooklyn's not the place to be after all.
