Duane Street Hotel Reportedly 'Weeks' Away from Opening

The Duane Street Hotel in Tribeca has been rumored to open several times before, the most recent opening date was set for December 2006. Of course, that came and went and nothing happened.
But a very reliable source says the hotel will finally open in at least six weeks. Naturally, we won't believe it until we see it but the hotel (developed by Sam Chang and initially called the Loft Hotel NY) does have a page on the Luxe Hotels site which is a big improvement.
You can't make a reservation yet and the details on the 45-room hotel are also vague with the description rambling about the great service guests will receive. Plus, there are no real hotel room photos, just renderings. But you can expect:
Each of the 45 sophisticated and minimalist-designed rooms is appointed with hardwood floors and features a warm color palette. All rooms are individually climate controlled and include hi-tech amenities to meet the needs of business and leisure travelers.... The slate and marble bathrooms feature rain-shower heads and Natural Products from London amenities.
On site the hotel will have a restaurant called 'beca (get it?) that will serve "New American Cuisine with European and Meditaranian undertones" and yes, that is their spelling, not ours.
Now will Six Columbus open before this bad boy or what?
