Once again the Tropicana Hotel and Casino has been spared from destruction, at least until 2008.
Lovers of the Trop can thank a crappy debt market and rising constructions cost for the delay of the hotel's planned $2.5 billion renovation.
Last year, the hotel's new owners had planned on razing the building entirely but in the end decided to do an extensive renovation. However, that will be on hold until sometime in 2008.
Meanwhile, rooms at the Tropicana are now going for $45.95 a night. You can bet your ass they won't be this low after the renovations so take advantage of it now.
