Party Dispatch :: 'Duck Duck Wally' at the G-Spa

Last night we continued our whirlwind NYC tour by hitting up a party for a book from new novelist Gabe Rotter titled, Duck Duck Wally* at the Hotel Gansevoort's G-Spa lounge.
The book is about a lovable loser Wally Moscowitz who finds himself as a ghostwriter for one of the world's most famous rappers, Oral-B.
Naturally, Wally's identity must be kept secret so Oral-B doesn't lose his street cred. Yet, somehow someone is onto Wally's gig and they kidnap his most beloved possession ever, Dr. Barry Schwartzman, his bulldog. Thus a hilarious dog-napping chase through Los Angeles ensues.
Simon & Schuster, the book publisher, hosted the party at G-spa which was decorated with posters of the book cover--featuring a fat bulldog wearing a rapper chain and medallion--stickers of the book, t-shirts, fake Lost Dog posters and the most apropo party accessory, fake gold rapper chains for guests to wear.
Overall, G-spa is very cool lounge (despite the $15 cosmos) and we liked that it was small but not like THOR's Members Only small.
But remember during the daytime, this is an actual spa where the VIP booths serve as treatment rooms and the whirlpool baths that are just for show at night are treatment baths during the day. Also the ladies restroom at night is actually the ladies spa locker room by day.
That said, we could not imagine ever getting a massage treatment here. Definitely not now after we know what goes on at night.
MORE party pics after the jump.
