The Tides South Beach Closed Until September 15th

For most of 2007, the Tides South Beach has been undergoing a bit of construction and it looks as if that will continue until mid-November.
Thanks to a tipster, we heard the hotel had shut-down for more renovations. Apparently, the first batch didn't take as our tipster said something about whole front entrance had to be taken out. When we got in touch with the PR reps at Kor Hotels, they gave us the skinny on the latest renovations.
Currently we are completing a floor by floor renovation of the rooms, with floors 2 - 7 planned for completion on September 15th at which time we will be selling the rooms.
Floors 8 - 10, including penthouse suites will come online on October 15th.
Coral Bar will unveil in late September (Sep. 30th target)
The terrace, which is undergoing finishing touches, is open in 2 weeks on September 1st.
In the meantime, hotel's La Marea restaurant is open to guests. And although Kor Hotels assures us the guests arriving after September 15th will not be bothered by the remaining renovation on the floors above (the renovated elevators will also be working), just beware that there will be construction around the hotel through October. And let's hope this is the last of it all.
