Located about a mile from Safeco Field, the Fairmont Olympic is an upscale property with 450 rooms. More exciting for A-Rod fans is the in-house oyster bar where he'll probably take the blonde (oysters are an aphrodesiac, hello!) called Shuckers...and we'll try not to make any rhyming jokes here.
If super historic is your thing, check out the Sorrento Hotel downtown. The front desk told us that Safeco is only a 15-minute walk from the front door, and there are good options for those non-baseball fans who just happen to be traveling with a baseball fan....like shopping. The Sorrento offers a package including a $100 gift certificate to Nordstrom, a $120 gift certificate to Nordstrom Spa, dinner for two in the Hunt Club restaurant, and full breakfast either in your room or in the Hunt Club, plus complimentary town car services.
If you anticipate getting sick of stadium beer and hot dogs, check out the Panama Hotel (which is technically the closest to the stadium). There's a tea house there (cute!) and the only remaining Japanese bathhouse in the US is located here too--so you can wash off all the cooties.
