SIX COLUMBUS RETROSPECTIVE

· Spring 2005: Jason Pomeranc and Thompson Hotels announce plans for Six Columbus at the old West Park Hotel.

· July 5, 2005: First opening date for Six Columbus is pushed back. Tipster says: "the project is running a little behind schedule, hopefully it will be finished up by the end of summer."

· July 2005: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopt a baby girl from Ethiopia named Zahara.

· September 14, 2005: Britney Spears has the first of two kids. K-Fed becomes proud papa of third child with two different baby mommas.

· October 2005: Six Columbus opening moved to "sometime in Q1" of 2006.

· February 2006: Winter Olympics game in Turin, Italy.

· March 2006: Six Columbus pushed back to August 2006.

· May 2006: Brad and Angelina have a biological daughter.

· June 2006: Six Columbus became a verb.

· July 2006: Lance Bass came out of the closet.

· July 2006: Jason Pomeranc rumored to be a baby daddy. Turns out he is just the kid's uncle.

· August 2006: Ian Schrager opens the Gramercy Park Hotel...on time.

· September 2006: Britney has second kid. KFed now daddy of four.

· December 2006: Three years after being captured, Saddam Hussein is put on trial and executed.

· January 2007: Six Columbus doesn't open despite a major magazine plug.

· February 2007: Anna Nicole Smith dies.

· March 2007: Brad and Angelina adopt a boy named Pax, from Vietnam.

· March 29, 2007: We get wind Six Columbus will open April 16th.

· April 10, 2007: Larry Birkhead named biological father of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter, Dannielynn.

· April 16, 2007: Six Columbus doesn't open.

· April 23, 2007: Ads for unopened Six Columbus debut. Pomeranc's partner, Stephen Brandman, surfaces.

· April 24, 2007: Page Six mentions a new name for the unopened hotel, The Thompson Six at Columbus Circle. We find out later it won't hold.

· May 2007 Six Columbus turns on the lights and a rep says hotel to open in June.

· July 2007: Six Columbus still not open.

· August 12, 2007: The newest opening date rumor.

Other Notable Events
· Most of our friends got married (including us) and some even had kids.

· American Idol churned out three new idols.

· Apple released the iPod Nano, a new edition of the iPod shuffle, the video iPod, the MacBook laptop line and the iPhone.

· We lived through an entire summer of World Cup action.

· Dancing with the Stars TV show premiered and has churned out four champions so far.

· Nicole Richie and DJ AM got engaged, broke up, reunited, broke up, she then dated Steve-O, got serious with Joel Madden and is now pregnant.

· Paris Hilton went to jail.

· Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson got together and broke up the same amount of times Six Columbus pushed back their opening dates. (Ok, we're not sure of that one, but it seems like it.)

· HotelChatter has written at least 32 stories about this hotel, received countless email tips, web comments, photos, and cell phone photos. And it isn't even open yet. Greatest hotel buzz ever? Or just a case of everyone leering at a train wreck.
