Here's the rest of what we found happening in Las Vegas this week:

Hotel Wedding Crashers:

Everyone is getting in on the 7-7-7 wedding date and where else to do it than Vegas? Lots of people are trying their luck in Vegas on this day, including at the wedding chapels. Wedlock reports that:

· The Garden Chapel at Flamingo Las Vegas is preparing for 77 couples who will marry at one of 7 venues on the property.

· Mandalay Bay and Caesar's Palace will be hosting wedding with over 60 couples.

· The Venetian is booked with back-to-back 30 minute gondola rides and had to open another bridge in their indoor Venice-style water way to accommodate the couples who want to marry there on that day.

Hotel Hell:

One place to avoid however on this day is the Fitzgeralds Hotel and Casino in Downtown. KLAS-TV reports that a malfunctioning elevator fell 26 floors. The cause was probably due to overloading as nine people and a cart full of luggage were in the elevator. Fortunately, safety mechanisms prevented the box from crashing into the ground floor.

Hotel Casino Death Watch, Part Two: Hooters

The Ledger in Florida has the latest reports about what went wrong with Hooters Casino Hotel. The place isn't closing yet but we don't think it's going to last much longer. Still we could be wrong, the Ledger says room occupancy is on the upswing. Here are some other things the article mentions:

· "The welcome faded fast. Gamblers complained the slots were too greedy, the blackjack rules too tight. Hotel rates dropped to as low as $50 a night, compared with a citywide average of $100. Gaming provides only a third of the revenue, well below a 40-percent industry benchmark.

· "The founders concede they rushed to open too soon. They mistakenly didn't book advance business until the kinks were worked out.

"...After sharing the influential Las Vegas Review-Journal's top rating for customer service with the luxurious Wynn Las Vegas, the Hooters Casino Hotel's occupancy rates in recent months rebounded to more than 90 percent and the average room rate rose to $90 a night..."

But we won't get too excited. Hooters has a new owner coming in and the Ledger thinks the Hooters name will only be good for another nine months after that.

Hotel Pool Scene, The Hard Rock:

This is another reason why we would never stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. People be taking pictures of poolgoers from their room!
